July 6, 2003 - Uncle Julio's!!! Chris used to work in the Fort Worth area about 8 years ago, and he has raved about a Tex-Mex place that he ate at there ever since.   After 8 years of such reviews, Mommy decided she needed to see it for herself.   For the main course we had the Plato Gordo for two, which had ribs, shrimp, steak, chicken, beans, cheese, tortillas, sour cream, guacamole and some other various side things.   For dessert we had the "Softball of Death", otherwise known as a really big fried ice cream.  It was worth the four hour drive.   The shrimp melted in your mouth, the steak was seasoned just right, and the fried ice cream was delicious.   I overexposed the Plato Gordo a bit, but you get an idea of just how big this thing was and the picture was taken after Chris had sawed off a bunch of ribs.
