Previous     July 2, 2004 - The Great Hike Begins     Next Needless to say, we haven't done a whole lot of hiking since Sammy was born.  We decided that it was time to change that and took her for her first real hike in the Adirondacks.   We said goodbye to the chipmunk at the camp and headed out across the dam and out into the woods.   Sammy started out making a really great effort at walking and we were happily surprised at how far she made it on her own.  However, long before we reached the top she was carried in our arms, on our shoulders and rotated from person to person.
